Short answer
How it works
Your web browser can translate melkem.com into your language, and the steps for Safari on an iPhone, Safari on a Mac, Chrome on a computer and Microsoft Edge are below.
Your browser does the translation, not MELKEM, and browser translations can contain mistakes. This site has no translation widget and loads nothing from outside.
Safari on iPhone
Safari on iPhone
Apple says: “When you view a webpage or image that’s in another language, you can use Safari to translate the text (not available in all languages or regions).”
- Go to the Safari app on your iPhone.
- Go to a webpage.
- Tap the icon of three horizontal lines that Apple shows, then tap Translate to [language] (if translation is available).
This is Apple’s guide for iOS 27. It says the Translate option appears “(if translation is available)”.
Safari on Mac
Safari on a Mac
Apple says: “If a webpage can be translated into one of your preferred languages, you can have Safari translate it.”
- Go to the Safari app on your Mac.
- Go to the webpage you want to translate. If the webpage can be translated, the Smart Search field displays the Translate button.
- Click the Translate button, then choose a language.
If a language is missing, Apple says: “You may be able to make more languages available in the Translate menu by adding the languages in Language & Region settings.” And: “The availability of translations and the number of languages that can be translated may vary by country or region.”
Apple explains what happens to the page: “If you translate, Safari sends the webpage’s contents (including the full text) to Apple’s servers for translation. After the translation is complete, Apple discards the contents of the webpage.” And: “If you think the translation might need improvement, click the Translate button, then choose Report Translation Issue.”
Chrome
Chrome on a computer
Google says: “You can use Chrome to translate a page into other languages.”
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Go to a page you want to translate.
- On the right of the address bar, select Translate.
- Select your preferred language.
Google adds: “If Translate doesn’t work, refresh the page.”
Edge
Microsoft Edge
Microsoft says: “If you open a page written in a different language than your preferred languages in settings, Microsoft Edge will automatically prompt you to translate it.”
- Open a webpage in Microsoft Edge. The browser will detect the language of the page, and a menu will appear asking you to confirm that you want to translate the page.
- In the Translate to dropdown, choose the language you want the page translated into.
- To translate the page, select Translate.
To go back to the original, Microsoft says: select the translate icon in the address bar, then “Select Show original.”
