I Who we are

MELKEM Authenticator is published by MELKEM INC., 7398 Yonge Street, Unit 391, Thornhill, Ontario  L4J 8J2, Canada. Contact: hello@melkem.com.

II What the app collects

The app collects no personal data. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party code. Inside the app, only Apple’s keyboard can be used, so what you type there never passes through a third-party keyboard.

III Network connections

The app makes no network connections. Its only outside link is an email button, which hands off to the Mail app.

IV Your accounts

Account secrets and names are stored only on your device, in the iOS keychain. They aren’t synced to iCloud and can’t be restored to a different device.

V Encrypted exports

Encrypted exports are created only when you choose, protected by your own passphrase. MELKEM INC. never receives them. Where an export goes is your choice.

VI Copying a code

Copying a code places it on the iPhone’s pasteboard for 60 seconds. It is marked local-only, so it is never sent to your other devices, and iOS removes it when the time is up.

VII Camera

The camera is used only to scan setup QR codes. Images aren’t stored.

VIII Face ID and Touch ID

Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS. The app never receives biometric data.

IX Crash reports

If you have opted in on your device, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with developers. MELKEM INC. uses them only to fix problems.

X Lost codes

Because MELKEM INC. holds no user data, it cannot recover lost codes.

XI Law and changes

Canadian privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applies.

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page, with a new effective date.
